Dear members,

We are proud to inform that we have revised our grant for our members to more easily exchange students across borders. The grant is simple to apply for and the form and instructions can be found on our front page. It is our hope that this grant will create an incentive for taking opportunities to collaborate and learn from each other.
The opportunity is aimed at student members, but is not excluding senior members. The board has agreed to currently set the upper limit of support at 500 EUR and maximum four grants will be given per year. We are very interested in feedback from our members regarding this grant.

The board is also very active in organizing and attracting future parasitological conferences to our region. The program of SBSP5 in Copenhagen in 2013 together with 8th European Congress of Tropical Medicine & International Health (ECTMIH) is taken shape thanks to the dedicated local organizers and our board representative Jakob Skov. The bid for EMOP XII is also being smithed and the old capital of Finland, Turku, has been selected for the possible place for the event in 2016. SBSP is backing the bid as hosting society and two of our board members are participating in the organizing committee.

Dear members,

We are proud to announce that the first pdf-files of the society's journal (The Scandinavian-Baltic Society for Parasitology) is now available on our website. Thanks to help from the journals faithful editor, Jorun Tharaldsen, Karl Skirnisson, and the library of Estonian University of Life Sciences the Bulletin is now scanned to be made publically available.

In addition, the committee for planning the next bid for EMOP XII is now choosing from different
conference venues in Finland and an exciting program to be presented at EMOP XI this July.

Dear members,

Lots of good news. It was an expressed wish of the society's members for the board to promote SBSP to the world and attract new members. Here are our most recent efforts:

First of all, the arrangements are progressing smoothly for the 8th European Congress of Tropical Medicine & International Health (ECTMIH) that will be held in Copenhagen September 10-13th 2013 in joint collaboration with SBSP5. It is going to be very interesting to see how SBSP can benefit of designing a satellite event of such an important meeting.

For 2016, we raise the stakes even further. On the encouragement of Antti Oksanen we have agreed to commit to act as host organization for the next bid for organizing the next European Multicolloquium of Parasitology after Romania this year. The plan is to offer Finland as the obvious choice for EMOP in 2016.

In addition, we have taken an active step to make electronic versions of the society's journal, The Bulletin of the Scandinavian-Baltic Society for Parasitology, with the help of Jorun Tharaldsen. The electronic version of the journal will appear on our website's Archive-section.

P.S. Please check that you have updated your links to our website's new URL, and feel free to promote our Facebook-page in your networks!
